The Powers of a Positive Attitude

Have you ever taken a few minutes to really listen to your thoughts? If you were to do this, would you be able to label them as positive, or negative?

Now let's say you are walking down the street with these thoughts. Do you think anyone who met you would be able to tell you what’s on your mind?

Thoughts are very powerful. They affect your general attitude. You have much to gain from a positive attitude. Studies have shown that a positive attitude promotes better health, enables you to have more friends, and helps you to handle stress and problems better than those who have a negative attitude. But most importantly, a postive attitude helps us to manifest great things into out lives.

If having a positive attitude is so great, why do people choose to adopt a negative attitude instead? Well, we don’t so much choose it; rather, we are constantly fed negativity from our environments. The media, for example, is often full of negative images. Messages from our families, especially during childhood play an important role. A study shows that for every 14 things a parent says to his or her child, only one is positive. This is truly a saddening thought.

Why? Because all of these negative things get stored away somewhere in our sub-conscious and our subconscious mind recieves its instructions from the conscious mind and finds ways to achieve the things that our conscious minds to want. It has one main purpose; to achieve the goals that you set with your conscious mind. In other words, it never acts without INSTRUCTIONS. It does not know what is real and what isn’t and doesn’t understand the difference between something that is good for us and something that is harmful for us.

So all of those negative messages our parents, teachers and nasty kids from school told us are affecting the way we interact with the world today. But the good news is that they can easily be reversed.

The best thing you can do for your sub-conscious mind is to feed it positive affirmations that will help you to achieve what you want. Once you learn to utilize and control the power of your mind, great things are achievable.

If you would like to learn more about how to achieve these things, check out this fantastic new ebook, 'The Truth About Subliminal Messaging', which will give you an overview of how subliminal messaging works and dispel some of the myths you may have heard. You can also download some sample subliminal MP3's.

What is NLP?

NLP

Neuro Linguistic Programming, or NLP as it is commonly called, is a school of self-development which focuses on the way you communicate with both yourself and other people. Basically, it is way of tuning in to what your "inner voice" is saying, and your beliefs.

The founders of NLP, Richard Bandler, whose background was in mathematics and gestalt therapy, and John Grinder, whose background was in linguistics, formulated the method after noticing that successful people shared a pattern of communicating with themselves, which reflected core positive beliefs about themselves, as opposed to unsuccessful people whose way of communicating with themselves reflected their negative self-beliefs.

NLP works by helping you to sharpen your awareness of any negative thoughts or behavior that may be preventing you from reaching your goals, and then to replace these with more positive thoughts and behaviours.

The most direct method of practising NLP is by using positive affirmations. When we use a positive affirmation, we basically declare that something is true.

You can start by writing a list and then by repeating the items on the list to yourself each day several times. The more you put this into practice, the more you will start to believe that these things are true.

For example, if you are lacking in motivation you might repeat the following affirmations:

I am motivated.

I grow more and more motivated every day.

I can feel my motivation level growing.

It is important that the affirmations are spoken using the personal pronoun ‘I’ and are said in the present tense. You should aim to put some emotion behind them as you say them because the energy of your emotions is stronger than the energy of your voice alone.

Practicing these affirmations with the aid of subliminal messages can be a bonus, provided that the statements on the subliminal MP3 or CD are along the same lines as the ones you are writing on your list. Plus you can use the subliminal CD or Mp3 while you have breakfast, do the housework, ride the bus to work or simply relax, thus helping you to reach your goals faster. Subliminal Perception

Subliminal perception has been defined as perception that is recieved below the threshold of our regular senses. This means that when a message is recieved subliminally, it has literally bypassed our regular senses and has been picked up automatically by our sub-conscious mind. Considering that it is our conscious mind that is responsible for most of our negative thoughts, eliminating our conscious mind from the perception process means that our conscious mind cannot block any new messages that we try to feed it; hence the possibilities for creating new beliefs and realities for ourselves become endless.
